The Podcast Network Auctions Advertising Slots

Cameron, the CEO of The Podcast Network, has announced a series of eBay auctions for advertising slots on G’Day World.

This is great in so many ways, but mostly because it’s testing the water that only a few have tried before. Sun Microsystems, my former employer, even sells product via eBay. The concept is that it provides a product at the true market value. If there is a good enough demand, then the price rises, if not it stays low.

As a co-host on G’Day World I’d love to see people help out in anyway they can. Either throw a bid in–the starting price of $250 is such a bargain–or promote in anyway you can.

The concept of online auctions carrying bids for advertising seemed to be in left field at first. However, as the clouds start to part it looks like you are right on the money. Why should any business be limited to what they think a product or service is worth. If you truly offer value, this will allow the market to drive the profit skyward based on perceived value.
And what better testing ground than eBay?
